Kindred Women Founders

Erin and Abbie weave together their personal journeys, powerful practices, teachings and techniques. A rich melting pot of ancient and layered lineages.

They wish to acknowledge their teachers, and pay homage to the profound impact they have had on their healing and growth as space-holders. They extend their deepest gratitude for all of these evolving streams of wisdom.

Kindred Women’s Space is the culmination of Erin’s own journey from footloose and fancy-free Maiden to Mother, sacred space holder, Rites of Passage facilitator and passionate women’s wellness advocate.

Erin grew up in a big family where there were long, slow days spent exploring outdoors and swimming in rivers. Woven into a large tapestry of wise women, where everyday life and the responsibilities of raising children were shared by ‘the village’. The natural world and her family were her first loves.

She spent her twenties studying, travelling and working in high-pressure environments producing events for large brands.

During Erin’s first pregnancy she underwent a complete metamorphosis - one which she believes was informed by her upbringing. After the birth of her first daughter, she came to meet her new self while experiencing the challenges of early motherhood. In the struggle to find some kind of balance amidst the demands of raising children, her career and the overwhelming bombardment of external noise she noticed the village way of life had seemingly disappeared, and how disconnected she had become from the flow of her own feminine nature.

She observed the women around her too, struggling with anxiety, overwhelm and stress related illnesses and realised she was not alone in feeling disillusioned by the modern constructs of what it meant to be a woman.

Like many women, she grieved the loss of connection to community, country and spirit. She longed for the anchors of ritual and honouring rites of passage, which felt lost to our modern culture.

As she consciously started to realign her life, she could not ignore her calling to walk alongside other women on their healing path. She realised how integral gathering women to be in the evolution of these times - and so Kindred Women’s Space was born.

Erin is a certified birth and post-partum Doula, Meditation, breathwork and kriya teacher and certified Rites of Passage facilitator. She is also an accredited member of the Meditation Association of Australia.

Abbie's personal pilgrimage began back in London where, after many years passionately producing film and television, she followed her heart and moved to Melbourne. Whilst she continued to thrive in the frenetic, fast-paced industry, and birthed two beautiful boys, there remained a deep disconnection to the divine.

Throughout her own healing journey, in turning towards trauma and tapping into the depths of distress, her calling has now naturally evolved, from premieres and press, to wilderness and waves.

Yoga guided Abbie on her first few steps to spirituality. Initially, she yearned for the faster flow, fleeing from the flames of anxiety, desperate to soothe her soul. It was the only modality that could, momentarily, help to harmonise her intricate inner world.

As she ventured further, and delved deeper, yoga became the comforting companion on her own path to connection with Self. Through the potency of pranayama and postures, and the medicine of mantra and meditation, she found solace in stillness, and an inquiry into the inner landscape, with acute awareness.

Witnessing and welcoming the multiplicity of the mind, Abbie promotes the exploration of emotional entities, bodies or 'parts' of ourselves, with a compassionate curiosity; an unearthing and unburdening, that can ultimately lead to lasting transformation.

This magical metamorphosis, from frazzled TV Producer, to ‘wholistic’ healing facilitator, Abbie is honoured to educate and empower other women on their own journeys, guiding them as they emerge from the shadows into the light, reconnecting with their eternal essence, and basking in the beauty of inner peace.

By encouraging surrender, release and radical acceptance, she hopes to explore the birth of a new consciousness, in a community of creative and expressive fellow women warriors.

Abbie is a Yoga, Pranayama, Kriya and Meditation Teacher. She is also certified in Health, Life and Internal Family Systems Coaching and Plant-Based Nutrition.
